Theory Test
Before you can apply for your driving test you need to pass the driving theory test. The theory test is in two parts - questions and hazard perception.
The theory test is done on touch screen computer at a dedicated theory test centre. We can let you know the location of your nearest centre. You have to complete 50 multiple choice questions and the passmark is 44 out of 50.
At the end of the question section of the test comes the hazard perception test. This comprises 14 video clips on the computer screen and you have to click when you see the hazard. In total there are 15 hazards and the sooner you see the hazard and click the mouse button, the more points you score for that clip. The total maximum hazard perception score is 75 points and you need to get 44 to pass the hazard perception part of the test.
You have to pass both parts of the test at the same time.
